How To Get Involved

40 Days USA is a 40 day call to pray for our nation leading up to the national election. Our goal is to unite as a nation and pray together. 

But how is this possible? The first step is to get involved! Let’s look at how you, your friends, your family, and your church community can work together to spread the word and get involved in our movement today.

Participate By Praying

Start by committing to praying for our nation during the 40 days leading up to the election. This can be done individually, with family, or even with your church.

Individual Prayer

We ask people to personally participate by spending a few minutes each day praying for the nation. To help you do this, we have 40 prayer leaders that have each created a brief, 5 minute video prayer devotional for that day’s topic. In addition, we have a written devotional for each of the 40 days to help guide you in prayer for the nation as well. 

You can sign up to receive the video devotionals right to your email inbox on the 40 Days USA website. You can also join our Facebook event page or follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn to follow along each day as well.

Family Prayer

We recommend families get together at least weekly to pray together for our nation. Some families may take this time of prayer during your family dinner or before bed once a week. Others may set aside a specific time every day to pray together. 

We encourage you to pray whenever, wherever, and however the Lord leads your family, as long as it’s a time you can set aside together. 

Get You Church Involved

There are several ways local churches can participate in the 40 Days USA initiative. Some churches may choose to do just one action, while others will choose to take part in all of these. 

Prayer In Church Services

We recommend a few minutes be set aside and devoted to prayer for the nation during each weekend service that falls in the 40 days leading up to the election. This can be done a few ways. 

Your pastor or another prayer leader could choose to pray in front of the congregation for some of our suggested prayer topics. Or a few minutes of silence could be devoted to prayer for our nation during each service. You could also choose to distribute our prayer guide and encourage your congregation to pray for our nation during this time. Have A Church-Wide Prayer Meeting

Churches are encouraged to host one church-wide prayer meeting for the nation. We have a church prayer meeting guide that will walk you through how to run this hour-long prayer meeting. Churches may modify that guide as to fit their congregation or do their own organized prayer meeting too. 

Help Spread The Word! 

In many ways, 40 Days USA is an organic movement. This means that word spreads with people like you sharing about this call to prayer. Here are some simple ways you can help share the word.

Follow 40 Days USA On Social Media

Follow our Facebook Event Page, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn pages. Then, invite friends and contacts family that would be interested to follow too. Share our posts to spread the word to your followers too. 

Tell Your Pastor

Your church can’t get involved unless your pastor knows about the movement. Let you pastor know in person, or use our letter template that can be used to tell your pastor about 40 Days USA and encourage them to participate in a way they feel led.

Tell Your Local Radio Station

We have many radio stations participating by airing a 1-minute radio vignette with a daily prayer from our prayer leaders during the 40 days. We recommend emailing or contacting your radio station to ask them to get involved in our national prayer movement.
