Praying That Business In America Would Glorify God

“Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established” (Proverbs 16:3).

At the beginning of the millennium, Billy Graham said, “I believe that one of the next great moves of God is going to be through the believers in the workplace.”

His words have proven to be the case in our culture today. Consider this example of one such businessperson. Successful restauranteur, Peter Demos’s understanding of his mission and purpose was clarified when a trusted mentor told him that he isn’t actually the managing director of his company—God is. Ever since then, Demos has viewed himself as a steward. He reads Scripture every day and fills a board at his office with prayer requests that he believes God has asked him and his fellow Christian employees to pray for. He listens to the needs that arise among his 500+ employees so that he can ask God for ways to help them. He has truly made his business his mission field and place of ministry. This same scenario is playing out all across our nation as God becomes the CEO of many high-profile and small businesses.

Lord Jesus, I pray for every business owner in America – that You would establish the work of their hands to bring glory and honor to Your name. Prosper those who have determined to build and run their businesses upon Your principles and who genuinely care for and about their employees, staff, and those they serve. May You bless those who put their trust in You to be a blessing to many in their communities and beyond. Fight for those whose businesses are being attacked by the culture if they don’t “toe the line” and bend to the will of the woke. Help believers across our nation to stand up for righteousness in the business realm across America!

• Humble yourself in a posture of prayer before God and surrender your business or work journey to Him. Tell Him that you trust Him and His plans rather than your own.
• Pray for others you know who are struggling in their businesses or jobs. Ask the Father to give them peace and to trust in His ability to work all things out for their good.
• Pray that every believer who is in business in our nation will follow God’s principles so that the economy can improve and so every community in America will thrive.
• Pray for Divine protection from attacks of the enemy by those who would try to damage business by not following the “rules” of the current culture.
• Pray for godly creativity in the American economy and business owners who are willing to mentor those who struggle and the next generation of business owners/workers.
